Keynote

Matt Richtel is a Pulitzer-Prize winning New York Times reporter and bestselling author of narrative non-fiction books, and thrillers. He develops and writes long-form projects for the Times, including The Inner Pandemic, a 2022 series on the crisis in adolescent mental health. His book about the immune system, An Elegant Defense, was named by Bill Gates as one of his five picks of the 2021, among widespread accolades. He won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for national reporting for his explanation and expose on distracted driving and the underlying business and scientific forces behind the battle for human attention. That work led to the book A Deadly Wandering that The New York Times said: "deserves a spot next to Fast Food Nation and To Kill a Mockingbird." It was named as a best book of the year by multiple publications, including The Christian Science Monitor and The San Francisco Chronicle.
