Dr. Bridget Callaghan

Dr. Bridget Callaghan is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at UCLA who studies how early life experiences influence interactions between mental and physical health across development. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, her Masters in Clinical Psychology, and her Ph.D. at the University of New South Wales, in Australia. She has worked clinically in the field of developmental psychology, and completed her postdoctoral training at Columbia University in New York in 2019. Dr. Callaghan’s research has been generously funded through the National Institutes of Mental Health, Brain Behavior Research Foundation, and National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia. She is the recipient of the APS Rising Star Award, the Federation for the Association of Brain and Behavioral Sciences Early Career Impact Award, and the Kucharski Young Investigator Award. She has active collaborations with researchers at New York University, the University of New South Wales and Sydney Children’s Hospital in Australia, Telethon Kids Institute Australia, and the University of Fukui in Japan.



Justinian Huang

Justinian Huang joined Pearl Studio (formerly Oriental DreamWorks) as a Creative Executive in 2015. In five years, Justinian has made a rapid ascent to Director of Development, and subsequently to his current position as Head of Development. At Pearl, Justinian leads the team that oversaw the historic co-productions of KUNG FU PANDA 3, ABOMINABLE with DreamWorks Animation, and OVER THE MOON with Netflix. As development head, he has built and expanded upon Pearl's diverse and robust development slate, with a focus on creative partnerships with Asian-American and Asian talent. He also oversees the creative aspects of the Mandarin language adaptations and localization of all Pearl Studio films, collaborating with acclaimed filmmakers.


Moderator: George Huang

George Huang is a screenwriter, director, and professor at UCLA. His writing/directing debut was with the award-winning Swimming With Sharks, starring Kevin Spacey, Frank Whaley, Michelle Forbes and Benicio del Toro. Huang has worked on dozens of other film and TV projects. His most recently produced screenplay is Final Recipe, a South Korean-Chinese-Thai co-production directed by UCLA TFT Professor Gina Kim and starring Michelle Yeoh.


In collaboration with the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television the Livestream will be recorded and hosted on the CSS website for future viewing.
