Stephanie Allain

Producer, Founder & Principal of Homegrown Pictures

Stephanie Allain is an American producer, executive, author and advocate known for
championing diverse voices in cinema. She rose through the ranks at Columbia
Pictures and later founded Homegrown Pictures in 2003. In 2022, she was elected
President of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) – the first woman of color to serve in that role – where she works to support producers’ interests and advance equity in the industry. She sits on the boards of American Cinematheque and the PGA, and she produced influential films and series such as Hustle & Flow, Dear White People and Exhibiting Forgiveness. Allain was the first Black woman to produce the Oscars in 2020, earning her an EMMY nomination.
