About the Narrative Change & Social Impact Initiative
The Narrative Change & Social Impact (NCSI) Initiative connects leading youth advocacy organizations with entertainment and media creators to help foster more authentic, nuanced, and empowering portrayals of young people whose experiences are too often overlooked or reduced to stereotypes.

Our work centers young people with lived experience in the child welfare and justice systems, as well as opportunity youth. NCSI prepares and supports youth lived-experience experts and advocacy experts to engage directly with storytellers, bringing real-world perspective to the development of characters, storylines, and impact campaigns.

By connecting youth, advocates, researchers, and creators, we aim to help shift the stories our culture tells about young people — and expand what audiences understand to be possible for them.

About the Role
The Entertainment Partnerships Manager will be a key driver of NCSI’s engagement with the film, television and digital media industries.

This is a relationship-centered role for someone who knows how the entertainment industry works, enjoys making connections, and can turn an initial conversation into a meaningful collaboration. You will build and steward relationships with writers, producers, showrunners, executives, social media creators, and other industry partners, identifying opportunities to bring youth voice and lived experience into the storytelling process.

Those collaborations might include youth-informed character or storyline development, research consultations, script reviews, feedback on cuts, early screenings, youth advisory panels, cast and press briefings, speaking opportunities, or other forms of creative partnership.

The ideal candidate brings 3-5+ years of entertainment industry experience, an existing professional network, and the curiosity and initiative to continually build new relationships. You understand that successful partnership development isn't just about making an introduction — it's about thoughtful follow-through, identifying mutual opportunities, and building trust over time.

CSS operates primarily virtually, but we are seeking a candidate based in the Los Angeles area who can occasionally support in-person meetings and events.

We are open to discussing either a permanent full-time position or a freelance/consulting arrangement for this role. This project is currently funded through 12/31/2027.
